Global Partner – GIJTR

The Global Initiative for Justice, Truth and Reconciliation (GIJTR) is a consortium launched in 2014 by the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience that brings together advocates, activists and practitioners to support communities emerging from conflict in documenting human rights violations, promoting truth-telling, memorialization, and capacity-building for transitional justice.

Local Civil Society Organizations in Liberia

LUMASA collaborates with a network of local civil society organizations across Liberia — including capacity building, advocacy, and community-based initiatives focused on human rights, peacebuilding, and survivor support. These partnerships enable grassroots action, amplify the voices of those affected by the 1990 Lutheran Church Massacre, and strengthen collective efforts for justice and healing throughout the region.

Faith-Based Institutions in Liberia

Faith-based institutions across Liberia play a pivotal role in remembrance, healing and advocacy. Through collaboration with churches and religious communities that have long served survivors and the wider society, LUMASA leverages faith-based networks to promote accountability, commemorate the 1990 Lutheran Church Massacre and support psychosocial recovery of survivors.

Government Bodies of Liberia

LUMASA collaborates with government bodies in Liberia — including policymakers, justice institutions, and peace-building departments — to ensure that recognition of the 1990 Lutheran Church Massacre is integrated into national frameworks of accountability and memorialization. By working alongside these institutions, LUMASA helps to elevate survivors’ voices into formal processes of reconciliation and systemic change.
